Jocelyn H. Santiago believes she was born to be a teacher. She went into the teaching profession right after she earned her BA in Elementary Education from St. Paul College of Manila in the Philippines, and spent twenty seven years teaching in one of the most prestigious private schools in the country. As an educator, she finds much fulfillment in helping her students be the best they can be. Many of her former students have continued to keep in touch with her, sharing their many successes in their personal lives and professional careers. Inspired by these accomplishments, she decided to come to the United States to help make a difference in the lives of the people there.

With her almost three-decade experience in a more personalized/individualized system of instruction, Mrs. Santiago seamlessly joined the Arborland faculty and embraced the Montessori method of teaching. She was initially hired as the assistant Toddler teacher, and this was also when she developed a passion for teaching younger children. She received her Early Childhood Education certification from North Orange County College and pursued her Infant/Toddler Montessori certification at the University of California, Irvine. She has been working with the youngest age group for seven years now, and finds that they challenge her as much as elementary-age students. As the Toddler teacher, she ensures that her students always feel safe and loved for who they are, and encourages them to be the best they can be. The mere opportunity to inspire them, for her, is extremely rewarding.
