Class of 2005

William Chakar

After graduating from Arborland in 2005, I have continued to build on my strong academic foundation and excel in both scholarly and personal endeavors. I attended St. Angela Merici School for 7th – 8th grade where I quickly saw the advantages that a Montessori education had given me. Arborland had instilled in me conscientious and dedicated study habits which pushed me to graduate from St. Angela’s as Class Valedictorian. After my success at St. Angela’s, I enrolled at Servite High School, an all-boys, Catholic institution in Anaheim where I had been accepted into the Honors Program.  For my four years at Servite, I took all Honors and AP classes, while being heavily involved in the school and community. I participated on the Varsity Track Team, was on Student Council, founded the PreMed Club, and was President of the California Scholarship Federation – Servite Chapter. I graduated with over 240 hours of volunteer work – a tribute to Servite’s dedication to community service. My busy schedule did not prevent me from truly enjoying high school. It was one of the greatest times of my life for I forged strong friendships and was able to be part of a caring, upbeat, and passionate community. ...

Nicole Martinez is now a senior at Sunny Hills High School.  “Arborland has helped me with public speaking.  Now when I have to present a project in class, I don't feel afraid.  I can now speak with confidence.”

Nicholas Kim

As of right I am a Junior (Woot Woot) at Fullerton Union High School. My interests/hobbies are swimming, Boy Scouts, JROTC, Speech and Debate, School Mentoring, and being a part of my church's youth group leadership. The classes I'm currently taking are AP/IB Physics, Spanish 3, Debate, AP US History, IB Mathematics, AP/IB English and Composition, and JROTC. ...
I guess Arborland not only gave me a strong educational base, but helped me to learn the social skills that I would need in my years to get through high school. I still remember all the quirky ways that my teachers would teach the class on what it right and what is wrong, something that I see isn't really being taught by teachers who forget that a child is still a child. ... index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=161Nicholas Kim

Class of 2007

Ryan Chang
I attend Wilson High School and graduated from Parks Junior High and Arborland.  Even though I am only a sophomore, I know that one of my biggest interests is becoming a graphic designer.  The reason why I like graphic design is because I have grown up around art and my father's current career is a graphic designer.  I am currently taking Chemistry, English 2, Geometry, Chinese 2, and Introduction to Art.  I am hoping to add Physics, Biotechnology, or Computer Lit.  I am also very excited to play waterpolo this year!
What I remember about Arborland is waking up in the morning ready to go to school, not having to worry about primping myself like I do now.  Arborland was cool because people liked me for myself.  I also remember all of the field trips we went on.  School life was very stress-free before I hit public schools.  Arborland helped me become an independent individual while having friends.  I remember Ms. Foy the most because I had her for about three years.  She taught me insane amounts of academics and I learned a lot about life through her stories.
Thank you Arborland for preparing me for the future!

Class of 2008

Erin Buzon is now a freshman at Brea Olinda High School.  She is taking Intro Science, Health, Geometry, Honors Literature, and Spanish I this year.  She is excited to be on the basketball team also!  “I remember all the teachers gave me the individual attention I needed to be successful.”

Samara Eghterafi

Hi Arborland!  It’s Samara!  Right now I’m a full-time freshman at Brea Olinda High School. I don’t have a major yet but I am completely dedicated to the performing arts.  This year, I am taking Honors Biology, Honors Language Arts, Geometry, Health, and hopefully Spanish.  I am also in two show choirs!  The thing I remember most about Arborland was how many memories and friends I made in the short time I was there.  I can’t even describe how much Arborland helped me!  My grades shot up to the sky!  My short experience at Arborland gave me the ambition to get good grades in junior high and high school!  The teachers I remember are Ms. Simms, Mrs. Luque, Mrs. Tammy, and of course Dr. Chen.  I remember Ms. Simms because she helped me get the confidence I needed to succeed in school, along with Mrs. Tammy.  I also remember Mrs. Luque because she has known me since I went to pre-school and kindergarten at Arborland.  She was also my first teacher.  Finally, I remember Dr. Chen because she was such a great principal and I have never felt more comfortable with a principal in my entire life.  Thank you so much!  I will love the memories I have with Arborland forever.

Kevin Loh is a freshman at Sunny Hills High School.  After Arborland, he attended Parks Junior High School.  This year, he is most excited about being a member of the Sunny Hills Drumline Program.  “What I remember the most from Arborland are my friends and my teachers.  Arborland helped me get a great start in my educational career!  Thank you for everything!!”

Miranda Chen

Hi!  My name is Miranda Chen.  Right now I am an eighth grader at Parks Junior High.  I am doing very well in school, including being in the only Advanced Geometry math class and Honors Language Arts.  Last year during 7th grade, I took Advanced Choir and Spanish as electives.  This year I will be continuing Spanish and I will also be taking Leadership, a class that you have to be chosen for to get into.
What I like about Parks and Arborland is that you get to learn so many new things everyday, including life lessons that you will be able to use in the future.  You also get to make so many friends that you will never forget.  I still talk to my friends from Arborland.  Some of them even go to Parks with me! ...
...Although I walk to Arborland everyday, I still miss it.  I miss the teachers, the classrooms, and most of all, the students there.  Arborland helped me make it to those advanced classes and I am very grateful for that.  I know that there will be a lot more challenges that I will be able to conquer in the future because I went to Arborland! ...
