Arborland to Celebrate International Culture Day 2012
FULLERTON, CA – Arborland Montessori Children’s Academy will be celebrating International Culture Day on April 5 and 6, 2012, at the Hughes and Valencia campuses, respectively.
The show will start at 10:30 a.m. for both campuses and will end around 12:30 p.m. The show is comprised of educational performances from each of the classes, who are all representing different continents and regions. It will be followed by lunch at the classrooms, featuring delicacies from their specific areas. The learning continues as the rooms are adorned with artifacts and information that visitors can enjoy. In fact, guests are encouraged to visit the rooms and get their “passports” stamped. Once completed, the passports can be exchanged with wonderful prizes.
Special guests from Instilling Goodness Elementary and Developing Virtue Secondary Schools of Northern California will also be sharing their culture. They will be performing a traditional Chinese Dragon Dance.
Cultures of the world are celebrated every spring at the school. It is a tradition at Arborland since its inception, and parents and students enjoy it as a great carnival showcasing cultures of the world in song, dance, food tasting, and a chance to dress up in clothes representing other countries.
We are happy to have the opportunity to welcome parents, relatives and friends join us to enjoy the event in a relaxed atmosphere. Classes are assigned different regions at the start of every year, which they will study in-depth. The study of these continents is incorporated into the Social Science curriculum throughout the year. By doing this, the students get a deeper understanding of the culture of that specific region, which will result to a better appreciation of the nations and their people. The children have fun preparing for the great carnival of International Culture Day, and the lessons learned in the process are priceless!
Arborland’s Hughes campus is located at 2121 Hughes Drive Fullerton, CA 92833. The Valencia campus is located at 1700 W. Valencia Drive Fullerton, CA 92833. For more information about this or other Arborland events, please call (714) 871-3111 or visit our website at www.arborland.com.
