At Arborland, the students thrive from learning experiences to contribute and serve their community. Arborland Education and Youth Activity Center offers a wide variety of extracurricular and after school activities, all held on campus.

Private Music

Piano, vocal, flute, guitar, drums and keyboard classes are available for your children. During the school year, classes occur after school from 3:00-6:30 pm. In the summer, classes open up to earlier class times. These classes enhance your child’s musical skills in a variety of areas. For ages 4 and up.

*Please bring your own instruments for guitar and flute.

Who is this course for?

This course is designed to be a fun and engaging introduction to music comprehension. This class welcomes students with no previous music experience and looking to build a foundation for any future musical learning. Students that love sensory engagement are welcome too!

What they'll learn:

  • Introduction to music styles and beats through ear training

  • Expressive singing 

  • Dance and rhythm movements (we love learning on our feet!)

Who is this course for?

This course is aimed for students with previous introduction to musical training. This class will focus on building your child's confidence in their technical skills to further enhance the joys of music making.

What they'll learn:

  • Keyboard playing skills

  • Music note reading

  • Rhythm training

  • Ear training 

  • Musical appreciation for broader musical styles

  • Ensemble playing with friends

Art

Our art program exposes the student to different media (watercolor, pastel, etc.) and techniques (painting, sketching, etc.), enabling them to develop and master their own. Art classes are available for both primary and elementary levels. Ages 4 years and up.

We offer a wide range of dance classes including ballet, jazz, and tap. Students ages 3 and up can learn coordination, stage performance, strength, and flexibility all while becoming confident in themselves.

All dance classes are taught by Ms. Kandy. She teaches various styles in all levels from Pre-K to adult. Please contact her or the office for information.

Explore the magic of performing in a safe and creative space! This class will be focused on the technique of public speaking, memorization, scene work, and group ensemble activities. This Acting Techniques class will build the student’s confidence onstage, become familiar with Voice and Movement styles, and enjoy the art of performing!

Swimming

We have a beautiful indoor pool perfect for young children to get comfortable in the water, and learn different kinds of swim techniques. During the school year, swimming is held after regular school hours from 3:00-6:30 pm. In the summer, class time slots start as early as 9:00 am until closing. Ages 4 and up for group lessons; any child below 4 years needs to be in a semi-private or private lesson.

  • Group = 4 students

  • Private = 1 student

Tennis classes are held on our on-campus tennis court. The instructor provides group and private instruction. Ages 4 and up.

Gymnastics

Gymnastics is a great way to enhance your child’s dexterity and improve their motor skills. The class is open to both boys and girls for ages 3 years and up.
