Getting the Most Out of Summer

Updated: Jul 8, 2020

Summer is right around the corner – where did the time go? – and we’re all uncertain about what this time holds for us. This doesn’t mean that summer fun can’t happen! Here are some fun ways to turn your home and yard into a summer playground for you and your kids.

Get Outside

The outdoors might be limited to us right now, but that doesn’t mean you can’t use your backyard to make some summer memories. Some ideas are:

  1. Camp out

  2. Have a water balloon fight

  3. Play shaving cream twister

  4. Go for a family bike ride

  5. Blow bubbles

  6. Have a nature scavenger hunt

  7. Decorate the driveway with sidewalk chalk and have a photoshoot or draw a hopscotch board and play a few games.

  8. Stargaze with your family

Stay Inside

Small or large spaces don’t matter when it comes to having a good time with your family! Create laughter and love with some of these summery activities:

  1. Make a sensory bottle aquarium

  2. Perform an easy science experiment by making soap clouds

  3. Buy a popsicle mold and make homemade popsicles.

  4. Build a fort

  5. Movie night complete with delicious snacks and comfy pajamas

  6. Enjoy story time, crafting, block play or coloring

  7. Have your kids create a Summer Scrapbook by keeping a journal about their favorite Summer activities, and adding mementos and pictures
